Just an outstanding pair of saddle bags by one of Colorado's best known period makers. These russet colored saddle pockets have awesome color and patina. They're in great condition with no rips, tears or rot. There is border line tooling on the bags that end in small corner flowers. The conchos are a later replacement, but aren't too new. If you've been waiting for a great pair of Frazier bags to add to your Frazier collection don't hesitate to jump all over these. You won't be disappointed.

Very nice pair of older Tapaderos. The Floral tooling is very similar to that of Hermann Heiser's however they are unmarked. One is lighter than the other but can be darkened. The leather is 95% original with a little wear to the inside. One Taps' wood stirrup has a crack on the outside please see the photos.

F. A. Meanea Cheyenne Floral Saddle Pockets $ 999.99 Free Shipping
Superb pair of saddle pockets marked F. A. Meanea Cheyenne. This is an early pair as evidenced by the line drawings similar to Maine and Winchester along with the fully tooled poppies and leaves. The gussets are in excellent shape, no tears.. even at the corners. Beautiful darkened russet color with excellent patina. All original, including roller buckles and straps. Good strong mark. Back side retains original rough-out texture, these pockets have seen very little wear indeed. You'll find that the lacing between the two pockets is on the delicate side and has a few breaks. The straps are likewise in fair condition but overall the leather is super. There are four extra cowboy-enhanced holes in the backside of each side gusset but they're pretty much hidden. This set of full flap pockets can be seen in the Laird book p 39.
F. A. Meanea Cheyenne Saddle Bags $799.99 FREE SHIPPING
Later pair of Frank Meanea saddlebags with tooled super border design: these are a knockout pair, probably after the turn of the Century. They have hard backs, and perfect gussets with no tears. One flap pocket has a scratch across it but the patina on this pair of saddlebags is really nice; deep and rich looking... The original buckles are typical of later Meanea. Straps show wear and use but they're not over the edge. Marked near where the pockets join one another with a feint but legible MEANEA CHEYENNE. You won't be disappointed, as always, satisfaction guaranteed.
Sometimes cowboys heading west purchased their goods when they got off the train at Cheyenne, sometimes they outfitted themselves before they left the east. This is a good example of the latter. Acquired from a local sale these saddlebags came west with a dude in the late 1800's from Kansas City Missouri. Pockets have their original nickle conchos and roller buckles. The leather is in good overall with the usual delicate nature of the straps however the stitching is all tight and gussets are in great shape. Attractive border tooling design of a "s" repeat. Note the notch on the center piece to accomodate the fit around the saddle. It's exactly the same on both sides. Single scratch on one pocket looks like barbed wire. Excellent patina, I haven't even cleaned this leather.
